Levi Strauss reinforces its board with Apple exec
Yael Garten, data and engineering director of the Silicon Valley technology giant Siri, joins the board of directors of the denim giant.
Levi Strauss recruits Apple talent to its board. The denim company strengthens its board of directors with Yael Garten, former Siri data and engineering director of the Silicon Valley tech giant, who specializes in data analysis.
Yael Garten, who has a Ph.D. from Standford University, was a senior data scientist and scientific data director at LinkedIn before joining Apple in 2017. She also founded gNetics Systems in 2010, a consulting firm that assisted companies in converting data into insights.
“As we continue our digital transformation and infuse data and analytics into our business, we are expanding the board’s expertise in that area,” said Stephen C. Neal, chair of the board of the Levi Strauss company in a statement.
The US company ended the fiscal year of 2018 (ended November 25) with a revenue of 285 million dollars, identical to the one recorded in the previous year. The company’s profit stood at 543 million dollars, up 13%.
