Chic Shanghai and Messe Frankfurt postpone event due to coronavirus outbreak
Both organizations have decided to postpone the celebration of the events, which were to take place during these weeks, for March 11.
The coronavirus impact tradeshow’s agendas. Chic Shanghai and the fairs organized by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, Yarn Expo Spring, Intertextile Shanghai and Home Textiles) have decided to postpone their dates due to the risk of contamination by the coronavirus outbreak.
Both events will be held between March 11 and 13 in the Chinese city. “Messe Frankfurt has been an active player in the China market for over 30 years now, so we stand fully behind the government’s efforts to control the outbreak,” said Wendy Wen, senior general manager of Messe Frankfurt.
“We regret the difficulties that this decision may cause in the affected parties,” explained the organization of Chic Shanghai in a statement. “To protect the health of exhibitors, professional visitors, fair staff and the general public,” the company explained, backing up the decision to cancel the event.
