Jack Ma is a Chinese entrepreneur that founded Alibaba in 1999. He was always interested in the English language and when he was young, he worked as a tour guide for foreigners in his country. He graduated from the Hangzhou Teachers College with a bachelor’s degree in English in 1988 and became a teacher. After attempting many entrepreneurial projects, in 1995, just two years after IP connectivity arrived in China, he founded China Yellowpages, a portal that is considered the first internet company in China. In September 2019 the executive announced he was stepping down as a CEO of the company, but it will remain in the group as a member of the board of directors.
