Zalando reinforces its logistics with a new warehouse for Spain, France and the United Kingdom

Zalando reinforces its logistics for Western Europe. The German ecommerce company plans to open a new warehouse to serve orders from Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
The new logistics center, which has an area of 140,000 square meters, is located in the Dutch city of Rotterdam. The company has explained that the warehouse will start operating in 2021 and will create 1,500 new jobs.
The development of the new center of the German company was carried out under a joint venture with Somerset Capital Partners and Usaa Realco-Europe, two funds specialized in real estate management.
Zalando closed the first three months of the financial year of 2019 with red numbers of 17.6 million euros, compared to the losses of 15.1 million euros recorded in the same period of the previous year. On the other hand, the group increased its turnover by 15.2% to 1,378.2 million euros.
