Estée Lauder grows 11% and increases its profit by 19% in the first quarter
The American cosmetics company has ended the three months to September with a revenue of 3.9 million dollars.
Estée Lauder starts the fiscal year strongly. The American cosmetics company noted net profit of 595 million dollars (534 million euros) in the quarter ended September, up 19% from the same period the previous year.
The company has registered a revenue of 3.9 million dollars, 11% more than the same period of the previous year, when it noted a revenue of 3.5 billion dollars. By product category, sales of skincare rose 24% over the period, while cosmetics grew 3%. Perfumery and hair products, meanwhile, fell 2% and 5%, respectively.
By region, sales in North America fell 6% in the first quarter, while in Europe, the Middle East and Africa it rose 17%. In Asia, the company’s revenues grew 24%. Estée Lauder is present in 150 countries and has about 25 brands.
