El Corte Inglés goes stronger and rises its foreign sales 6.8%
International sales of the Spanish giant grew 6.7% in 2018. Foreign sales are already 5.4% of the group’s total revenue.
El Corte Inglés grows internationally. Foreign sales of the department store grew 6.7% in 2018, up to 850.8 million euros (948 million dollars). The group's income in its international markets are already 5.4% of its total income.
International sales of the group turned out better than its evolution outside the European Union, where the company grew 8.5%, up to 356.1 million euros (396.7 million dollars), the company has explained that in 2018 became stronger in its Latin American market.
In the European Union countries, numbers situated the Spanish giant in 494.7 million euros (551.2 million dollars), 5% more than 2017, being El Corte Inglés Portugal the one that stand out the most.
At the same time, in 2018, the companies in which the group participates, such as Repsol, FST Hotels, Only You and Sephora, turned out with a benefit of 96.7 million euros (107.7 million dollars), 4.4% more. Specially, the cosmetics company was the one with the best evolution, with a rise of 10%, up to 153 million euros (170.4 million dollars), and a rise of 97% of its benefit, up to 3.2 million euros (3.5 million dollars).
El Corte Inglés closed 2018 with a rise of 27.7% in its net benefit, up to 258.2 million euros (287.7 million dollars). The revenue of the Spanish giant grew 1.1% in the last year, up to 15.8 billion euros (17.6 billion dollars).
