The talent of retail, design and consultancy titans used to reinvent the fashion business. Desigual, Tendam, Pepe Jeans, C&A or Agatha Ruiz de la Prada are some of the speakers who will participate in the next edition of Barcelona Fashion Summit that will take place next February the 5th at Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (TNC).
Annually organised by Modaes.es and supported by Consroci de Comerç, Artesania i Moda de Catalunya (Ccam), Barcelona Fashion Summit has become the biggest professional event for the fashion business in Spain.
For this edition, the meeting will carry the title Fashion Year 0: Reinventing the fashion business. The purpose of the event is set on reflecting which strategies could be adopted by fashion in order to seduce consumers back at the same time as the sector undergoes a challenging context that does not completely attract clients even if the environment is actually quite favourable.
Andrés López, from Pepe Jeans; Ignacio Sierra, from Tendam and Domingo Steves, from C&A are some of the confirmed speakers
In order to organise an interesting debate, different executives who came to the fashion business after working for other segments will be present too, counting with people such as Daniel Muñoz, IT director at Desigual and with experience in other groups such as Conforama or Caprabo; Andrés López, Pepe Jeans’ operations director and with a previous experience at Johnson Controls Automotive and Camper, or José María Ruiz, who joined childrenswear company Gocco in 2017 as general manager after going through Juguettos and Telepizza.
During the event, we will also enjoy the participation of Maite Aranzábal, Adolfo Domínguez’s consultant, who has a long trajectory inside the retail sector on her back; Dimas Gimeno, former president of El Corte Inglés and currently the head of Dnext Retail or Bernardo Blanco, son of Blanco chain’s founder and nowadays head of the swimwear line Yshey.
Domingo Esteves, C&A’s director in Spain; Ignacio Sierra, Corporate CEO at Tendam and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada are some of the speakers who will also participate during Barcelona Fashion Summit 2019.
The event tries to open its focus to executives from outside the sector such as Chiqui Calleja from Larrumba or José María Roca from DDB
Furthermore, the event will lay its focus on what can fashion learn from other sectors such as restaurants or automobiles, and for that, two executives from outside the textile business will also assist the meeting. They are Chiqui Calleja, co-founder of the restaurant group Larrumba, and José María Roca de Viñals, vice-president of the advertising agency DDB, and who was in charge of Golf’s last campaign.
Together with fashion executives, there will also participate as usual analysts from some of the main consultancy companies, like for instance Javier Vello, managing partner of the retail and consumption sector at EY in Italy, Spain and Portugal, or Arun Arora, McKinsey’s partner.
Barcelona Fashion Summit has earned its size thanks to each and every edition, going from an amount of about 300 professionals in its first one, to more than 850 people who assisted during the last date.
