Fashion in 2118? Only Nike and Inditex may be alive

Spanish fashion has a future. In the last ranking carried out by FutureBrand, the Spanish leviathan Inditex is positioned in the thirteenth position of the companies with best perspectives to prosper in future years.

“Zara’s owner stands among the first positions of the list for the second consecutive year due to the improvement of client experiences and resource management”, explains FutureBrand in a statement.

Nike, specialised in sports articles, is another of the best positioned companies inside the ranking, located among the top ten. The United States company is placed in the sixth position of the chart. There are not many more companies linked to the fashion sector included. Among the few, Amazon L’Óreal, Alibaba or LVMH can be found, occupying the positions 21, 56, 67 and 70 respectively.

“Amazon has fallen positions down the ranking for the first time due to the reduce of innovation in the last year”, claims FutureBrad. However, the United States giant of e-commerce continues to be among the top thirty companies with a brighter future. On the other hand, LVMH is also one of the companies that have gone down the list the most, standing 51 positions below the one ranked last year. FutureBrand points out that this is due to the brand’s perception of fragmentation in the eyes of its clients.

FutureBrand’s ranking does not define the future of companies for their trajectory, sector or technologic innovations, but for their value as brand and the arrangement of the corporative purpose. However, it is true that the companies standing in the highest positions of the list are those that combine data use and technologic tools to offer a better vision of the brand and improve consumer experience.

The chart is elaborated in base to eighteen indicators that measure consumers’ perception of the brand. Among the measured parameters are company products, history, innovation or the added value of the products it offers.

The list is headed by the historic entertainment company Disney, followed by the Chinese producer of artisan liquor Moutai. The top five are concluded with the health company Gilead, together with Apple and Abbvie. FutureBrand explains that in this year’s ranking, the companies that have advanced the most positions are those linked to entertainment and technology, like Apple, in the fourth position, Samsung in the ninth or Netflix, at number 15, which has joined the list for the first time this year.
